MAY 2009 - Psalm 51

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts ;
you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Ok so I will admit, in recent weeks, I had been slipping away from my walk with the Lord, but I felt called to go to Calvary Cork this weekend, to see their new building and to go to their Sunday service, and just being around so many Christians and seeing their devotion to God reminded me of how much I do really love Him and want to walk with Him.
I was present at the Baptism of two of the guys from Cork, I don't know them personally, but we were invited out to it, it was at a river out in the countryside in Cork at a beautiful location near a graveyard, and just watching them get Baptised in the name of the Lord, reminded me of my Baptism and how on fire for the Lord I had been.
So I went home, feeling refreshed, and watched the video of my own Baptism

and it filled me with a sense of happiness, so much so that I wanted to sing Worship and praise to the Lord right then and there, so I found the song I wanted to sing in Worship, because I find singing as a great way to Worship and praise Him, and when I finished, I decided to listen to a Jon Foreman song that Ian, the guy who leads Worship at our Bible study, had played the week beforehand, "House of God Forever", and then I clicked on a song called "White as Snow" by the same guy, and while listening to it, I went to look up one of the psalms that Maeve had shown me on Judgement and I accidently typed Psalm 51 instead of 57, but it was PERFECT ! The song, White as Snow, that I had just been listening to, WAS Psalm 51, so of course in realising this, I sped through Psalm 51, and it was exactly what I needed to read,.. more like, .. exactly what I needed to say to the Lord and He , obviously, knew exactly what I needed to see in front of me.
I feel like I am on top of the world because I feel, once again like the Lord is there and I knew it all along I guess, but it took a little kick in the butt to get me to see it :)

Have mercy on me, oh God
According to Your unfailing love
According to Your great compassion
Blot out my transgressions

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
Restore in me the joy of Your salvation

The sacrifices of our God are a broken and a contrite heart
Against You and You alone have I sinned

Would You create in me a clean heart, oh God
Restore in me the joy of my salvation

Wash me white as snow
And I will be made whole
Wash me white as snow
And I will be made whole
