41Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. 42When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. 43After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
49"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" 50But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
51Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men
Reading this made me think about how much the Lord sacrificed for us,.. He went from being Creator of the universe to a baby in a manger to a child who had to learn everything just like we did. We can always relate to him, and that is a great comfort to me. Most people don't think about this, they picture the Lord as either a big bearded happy guy with a halo or as He was at the Cross, but they never look at the details like this. Or at the fact that He was born in a manger, not to a royal family, nowhere near a maternity ward, but in a place you would never think of for the birth of a baby, especially not the Creator of all things.
He came humbly into this world, lived a life like all of us, but free from sin, but He still had to deal with temptation just like us.
We can all relate to him one way or another.
Just remember that we should be living like Him, humble and free from sin.
He came to FREE us from sin, not leave us to rot in it.
And to do that, He died the most horrific death we can imagine. Would you do that for someone you love? He did it for people who hated Him, and for people who these days, don't even believe He exists.
But He still loves us,even though we are the way we are. He did all that for us, came to this earth, was born in the lowest of places, and then died the most horrific of deaths, to save us, the very ones who turned our backs on him and spit in his face.
Please, think about all of this.
God loves you. God wants to give you eternal life with Him. There is no catch to his love, no small print. He sacrificed so much for you, yes YOU!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" - John 3:16
I'm telling you right now, true love is sacrifice.
Love is thinking about others before you think about yourself
Love is selfless not selfish. Love is God and God is love.
Love is when you lay down your life for another
Whether for your brother, your mother, your father or your sister
Its even laying down your life for your enemies,
That's unthinkable, but think about that
Love is true
Think.
